Couples Counselling Course

  • A ten day course in couples counselling for qualified counsellors with a minimum of one-year post-qualifying counselling experience.

Course Tutor:  Dorothy Harte

Dorothy is an Integrative psychotherapist (UKCP, Reg. MBACP) who has been working with individuals and couples for over thirty years. She has an M.A. in Integrative Psychotherapy and is currently the Head of Counselling for Alton Counselling Service. She is an experienced and intuitive trainer who has a reputation for delivering engaging experiential training courses.

2 24th Feb Relationships.  What do we mean by marriage now? Stages of a relationship
3 23th Mar Working with relationships.  A look at different theories -systemic, object relations and transgenerational issues
4 24th Mar The uses and meaning of sex in a relationship
5 27th Apr Stages of divorce.  Kinds of divorce and revisit of attachment theory
6* 28th Apr Loss and grief in divorce
7* 25th May New relationships. Role of forgiveness. Emotional stages of development
8* 26th May Problems from the past – a look at use, shame and fear in the context of the couple
9* 29th Jun Repeating patterns.  Building an assessment interview
10* 30th Jun Blended families.  Family cultures and styles

Qualification

Providing you have achieved an appropriate standard in skills practice, a Certificate in Couples Counselling Skills will be awarded by Basingstoke Counselling Service. This will enable you to see couples under appropriately qualified and experienced couples work supervision.

Cancellations and Refunds

In the unlikely event that unforeseen circumstances arise and BCS has to cancel this course a full refund will be given. In the event of cancellation by the participant, BCS reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee as indicated by the table below.  All requests for cancellations must be received in writing, with changes becoming effective on the date written confirmation is received.
