What is counselling?
Counselling is a ‘talking therapy’. It helps many people with a wide range of problems through periods of distress or difficulty.
We provide help for people aged 18 or over who are…
- Depressed, anxious, confused or unable to cope
- Lonely, isolated or feeling helpless
- In need of understanding or support
- Finding it difficult to relate to others, or looking for more meaning in their lives
- Feeling they carry responsibilities almost too great to bear
- Having problems within the family or anxious about children
- Facing a personal crisis, such as bereavement or marriage break up
- Undergoing major changes in circumstances, such as redundancy or retirement
- Looking to explore issues of personal growth and development
Is counselling going to help me?
Counselling can help:
- Promote change
- Enhance well-being
- You find your own answers
- You feel better about yourself
- You enjoy a more meaningful life
Counselling is most likely to be helpful if you are:
- Inclined to explore
- Interested in reaching an understanding
- Making connections
Will I have to wait?
This depends on what time/day of the week you are available. There is sometimes a short wait for evening sessions as these are in greater demand.
